Jannet is an academically trained visual artist who works in oil paints and creates acrylic mono prints to incorporate into collages. She captures the beauty of our environment and explores how light creates color, patterns and shapes in landscapes, waterscapes, and still lifes. Her favorite light to capture is during the golden hours of the early morning sunrise or late evening sunsets.
Born and raised in NYC and Long Island, in 2003, she left her 15 year career as an IT software project manager at a large financial printer to go back to school to become an artist. She studied art first at Kean University, and then at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) in Philadelphia, where she worked in a studio and met regularly with a team of faculty critics and a community of artists.
Jannet lives outside of Philadelphia PA and at the NJ shore with her husband and two teenagers. Jannet enjoys traveling and exploring new places. She has traveled extensively through Europe, Canada and the US, visiting a total of over 60 cities. Jannet’s landscapes often capture her travel experiences and favorite places.
